What is the need that the Lord wants me to help fill…and where?”
Transition, when one season / stage ends and another begins. Each one must be asking themselves, and with a much greater intensity as they face the urgency of taking the place in God’s work that He has prepared:
what is the ministry that God has entrusted to me?
In what ways will the gifts and the fruit of the Spirit flow in my life?
What is the need that the Lord wants me to help fill…and where?
God uses moments of transition to try us and prove us and shape us. For many. the decision will be to go on for one of the fourth year majors, having heard a new call to further preparation to serve in the future.
Others, including the fourth year graduates already sense the divine push or pressure to go out to the harvest and continue to be perfected in another way.
Whatever the decision may be, I hope for the following for your lives.
Correspondence:
That you might find and persist in the place in the body of Christ that He has determined for each one.
Accept and invest the ministry and the authority that He allows you to have, with much fear and disposition.
Don’t try to be somebody else, or minister like another. My desire for you is that you will always be genuine and live with integrity.
Courageous faith: In contrast to presumption this virtue is a way of being…this faith is acting based on the Word of God, anchored in the very person of God.
Tenderness: While you encounter more and more responsibilities in the work of God, you will be faced with more dire situations. As you live the urgency to do things for God, don’t forget to be for Him. That extra moment to place your stethoscope to hear the hurting heart of an elderly person or of a young person that feels misunderstood…that pause in the midst of the hurry to say just the right word at the right moment, are opportunities placed there by God.
Discretion: Be known as representatives of divine truth.
Don’t shy away from investing and even losing to maintain firm the boundaries between good and evil, between the holy and the profane.
Face challenges with your whole heart, for God is present with you and He will act on your behalf.
